Types
There are different types of service animals who help people in their everyday lives. They have service animals such as dogs, cats, and parrots to odd ones like monkeys, goats, and horses (miniature and regular). Dogs help with the blind and the deaf. Monkeys help with quadriplegia, which is a disease where you cannot move all four of your limbs, or where you cannot move your entire body below the neck. Horses are used for muscle movement. Parrots are used for psychosis, which means you have a mental problem. Goats are used for muscular dystrophy, and a number of animals are used for anxiety issues. There are many tasks a dog can do. There are drug dogs, which sniff out drugs and people. There are SSIG dogs, which are dogs for people who have autism. There are mobility dogs, which helps people in wheelchairs. There are also psychiatric dogs, which help people who have mental disorders.
